  1. Delayed offsides is in effect. A shot on goal is still delayed offside. If a goal is scored on delayed offside, the face-off goes to where the shot on goal originated.
  2. On a delayed offsides, the offender has to make a clear route back to the blue for the offsides to be null and void. Any deviation, i.e., faking out the puck carrier, skating in front of them etc., will result in an intentional offside ruling, resulting in the face-off now taking place in the far end zone.
  3. Head contact in Canada is 2 mins or 4 mins, or 5 minutes and a Game Misconduct. The 2 mins is for accidental head contact ie. defender went to push a player and stick or hand then rode up and made minimal contact.
  4. Automatic icing.
  5. Short-handed teams will be allowed to ice the puck.

To determine teams advancing to the playoff rounds. If more than 2 teams are tied, as soon as the tie is broken, the tie breaker format is reapplied to any remaining ties. (I.e: goes back to head to head when back down to two remaining tied teams if no head to head than Goal Quotient).

  1. Head-to-Head Competition - Direct play between two tied teams
  2. Goal Quotient: Goal For/(Goals For + Goals Against) - The team with the greater percentage will advance. The 7-goal cap is used to calculate this formula. So, if you win 10-1 the formula will use 8-1
  3. Fewest Goals Against
  4. Fastest goal in the tournament
  5. Coin Toss

In the event a quarterfinal, semifinal or championship game should end in a tie, the tie will be broken in the following manner:

  1. 4-on-4 for five minutes of stop-time
  2. A 3-player shootout
  3. A sudden-death shootout consisting of players who have not participated in the 3-player shootout.

Each designated shooter for both teams will alternate shots. Home team will decide who will shoot first.  If the score remains tied after 3 rounds, new players will participate in a sudden-death shootout.

  1. The players in the first group-of-3 may not shoot again until all other eligible players on their team have had a turn OR the opposing team has used all of their shooters.
  2. Goalies are not eligible.
  3. A player serving a minor, major, or misconduct penalty MUST serve the entire penalty in order to participate in the shootout.
