  • All games will be played in accordance with USA hockey rules. (Only exceptions: All divisions will play tag-up offsides and can ice the puck on the penalty kill for all divisions)
  • All teams are guaranteed 4 games.
  • Teams / Officials must be ready to start games up to 15 minutes early.
  • Rosters are frozen the first day of the tournament. A player must play at least 1 game prior to the quarter or semifinals to be eligible to play in playoff games.
  • Rosters must be sent to mpeters@legacyglobalsports.com 7 days prior to start of tournament to guarantee roster is printed on scoresheet.  If not, the team manager will be asked to fill out scoresheet or provide stickers with roster.
  • Teams must be prepared to play Friday morning. Reserving a hotel room Thursday evening is advised.
  • Sunday championship games should be complete by 5:00 pm.
  • Some age groups may be split up into two or three divisions.
  • Schedule will be released 7-10 days prior to the tournament start date.
  • Your team will not be scheduled until full payment is received.
  • NO TOURNAMENT OFFICIAL has the right to change a score sheet or reverse a call from a referee. Once game is over the score sheet is FINAL.
  • Body (Checking) contact will NOT be permitted at any level.
  • Slap shots are allowed at all levels.
  • All divisions will play tag-up offsides.
  • Minor penalties - 2 minutes / Major penalties - 5 minutes
  • Game misconduct - Player will be ejected for the remainder of that game plus the next scheduled game.
  • Running time will be in effect during the 2nd half with 10 minutes remaining or less, only when a team is winning by 5 goals. Stop time will resume once the score is within 2 goals.
  • No timeouts are permitted in preliminary rounds and consolation games.
  • One 60-second timeout is permitted in quarters, semis and finals.
  • Players and coaches should report to the arena at least one hour prior to each game.
  • A maximum of four team officials may be on the players' bench at one time.
  • The home team will wear white jerseys and visitors wear dark.
  • All divisions will be scored 3 points for a regulation win, 2 points for a shootout win, 1 point for a shootout loss, and 0 points for a regulation loss.
  • Any forfeited games will be recorded as a 3-0 score. Any forfeited games affecting another team's playoff status, may be reviewed by the tournament director to determine which teams advance beyond preliminary round play. Use of ineligible players will disqualify a team from the tournament.
  • All games played by a disqualified team will be forfeited. No monies will be refunded.
  • Scores will be posted with a goal differential no greater than 7 as standard for all LGS Tournaments.
  • All divisions will get a 3-minute warm-up.
  • All divisions will play two 20-minute, stopped-time periods.
  • No overtime will be played in preliminary rounds.
  • If the game is tied at the end of regulation in preliminary rounds, a 3-man shootout will take place.

Shootout Format
Home team will decide who will shoot first. Designated shooters for both teams will alternate shots. If the score remains tied after 3 rounds, new players will participate in a sudden death shoot out. The players in the 1st group of 3 may not shoot again until all other eligible players on their team have had a turn OR the opposing team has used all of their shooters. Players with time remaining on their penalty are not eligible for the shootout. Goalies are not eligible.

2005 Division
  • 12 Teams, 1 Division 
  • 3-Game Guarantee (4th game is quarterfinal or consolation)
  • Teams will be seeded 1-8 for quarterfinal matchups
    • (1 v 8), (2 v 7), (3 v 6) and (4 v 5)
    • Winners of the quarterfinal games advance to semifinals
  • Bottom 4 teams will play consolation games
    • (9 v 10) and (11 v 12)

2006 Division
  • 13 Teams, 1 Division
  • 4-Game Guarantee
  • Seeds 1 and 2 receive automatic Bye into Semifinals
  • Play-In Games: (3 v 6) and (4 v 5)
    • Play in games will be two 15-minute, run-time halves
    • (3 v 6): 9:00am at Bill Gray's Iceplex  - Rink 4
    • (4 v 5): 9:00am at Rochester Ice Center - East Rink
    • Winners of the play-in games advance to semifinals

    • (1 v Lowest Seed)
    • (2 v Highest Seed)
2007 Division
  • 11 Teams, 1 Division

    • (4 v 5): 8:15am at Bill Gray's Iceplex  - Rink 2

2008 Division
  • 11 Teams, 1 Division

    • (3 v 6): 8:00am at Bill Gray's Iceplex  - Rink 4

Please refer to BAND, tournament scoreboards or speak to a tournament official in order to determine the playoff format for each division. It is incumbent upon the team officials to confirm with a tournament representative whether or not their team has advanced beyond preliminary round play prior to leaving the arena following their final preliminary round game.

In the event a quarter, semi or final game should end in a tie, the tie will be broken in the following manner:

  1. Overtime will be played during quarter, semi, and final games only.
  2. 5-minute sudden death (4-on-4)
  3. 3-player shootout.
  4. Sudden-death shootout (both teams get to shoot each round).
  5.  There is no OT or shootout in consolation games.

PLAY-IN GAME FORMAT

  1. Two 15-minute run-time halves
  2. Timeouts are permitted
  3. Clock will stop for the last two minutes if the score is within two goals
  4. If the game ends in a tie, a 3-player shootout will decide the winner

To determine teams advancing to the semi and final rounds. If more than two teams are tied, as soon as the tie is broken, the tie breaker is reapplied to any remaining ties:

  1. Total Team Points
  2. Head-to-Head (two-team tie breaker only)
  3. Goal Quotient = Goals for / (Goals For + Goals against)
  4. Least Goals Allowed
  5. Goals For
  6. Fewest Penalty Minutes
  7. Coin Toss
  • A zero tolerance for verbal abuse is in effect and will be enforced for all team officials, players, and spectators.
  • Appropriate penalties will be assessed for disputing or arguing a decision of the officials, any visual demonstration of dissatisfaction, or for the use of obscene or vulgar language to anyone at anytime during the tournament.
